Gilford Corporation is pleased to have served as General Contractor for the construction of the new Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church. The 117,000 square foot Church Campus, spiritual home for 5,000 parishioners, is situated on a 34-acre site in Glendale, MD, and consists of three connected buildings:
- A 3,000 seat Sanctuary with 153-seat choir loft as well as ancillary spaces such as meeting rooms, nursery, credit union, bookstore, office, restrooms, and other spaces. The Sanctuary is equipped with state-of-the-art Audio / Visual engineering and recording studio equipment.
- Administrative wing (16,000 sf) that accommodates executive offices and conference rooms for the ministerial staff.
- Educational wing (21,000 sf) that includes Fellowship Hall / Children’s Chapel, classroom, child day care and senior centers, meeting rooms, and a full-service commercial kitchen.
Gilford Corporation provided pre-construction services including design review, preliminary budgeting, value engineering, and assistance in acquiring the necessary permits.
Site work included constructing a storm water management pond, installation of all site utilities, and road work. Gilford also provided soil stabilization during winter months and completed parking lot paving.
