Gilford Corporation was selected as General Contractor for the first phase of the Cornerstone Peaceful Bible Baptist Church (CPBBC) campus. Located on a 27-acre site in Upper Marlboro, MD, first phase encompassed construction of a 66,000 sf School Facility. The church and school share the use of the building until the second phase is built.
This two-story facility with brick and EIFS exterior included a gymnasium with sanctuary seating for 1,300 or gymnasium seating for 1,020, multi-purpose room/Fellowship Hall with seating for 450, commercial kitchen, 21 classrooms, nursery, offices, and library/computer lab. Phase 1 site work included installing new utilities, storm water management and parking for 1,022 vehicles.
The second phase is planned to encompass a 99,000 sf Worship Center including a 3,000-seat sanctuary with balcony, chapel, administration suite, offices, meeting rooms, and a grand lobby.

Mr. Gilford earned a Bachelor of Science Construction Engineering degree from Alabama A&M University. He has held Civil Engineering Certifications and Registrations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Wisconsin. His fields of concentration include Heavy and Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Municipal and Highway Engineering, Construction Cost Estimating, Construction Management, and Construction Safety.

Ms. Gilford additionally develops and furthers client relationships and serves as a liaison to facilitate community and neighborhood interactions with federal and local governments and community organizations including the District of Columbia, affordable housing development groups, Department of State, and other organizations and agencies as required.
Ms. Gilford holds a Masters of Education degree from Howard University, Washington, DC and a Bachelor of Science, Business Education degree from Alabama A&M University, Huntsville, AL. She is certified as a High School Guidance Counselor and a Secondary Education Teacher.
